I'd like to let everyone know, especially Gina, that this shot is available on Art.com. I also have three other shots available there for the first time: "Sliding Door", "Two Drains", and this untitled shot.

good one! this photo has highlights and much better contrast than the shell from the other day...
Thanks! I knew this one was better. That's why I waited to post this one. The other one wouldn't have had as much impact if you had already seen this!
The contrast here is due to the method I used. The other shot was done completely in black and white, whereas this one was done in color and then converted to black and white using a method that gave me more control. I'll post on how I did it later, over at the teaching blog.
I have to say I am a fan of your black and white work... most of it is very nice. Seeing as this is a sight i enjoy i have added you to my blog list no need to do the same.
